Once you have been seen for your initial appointment, we then would discuss your plan of treatment based on the variety of general dentistry treatments we offer, that allows you to choose what the best option is for you. Some general dentistry services include:
Periodontal Therapy, otherwise known as a deep cleaning. This is the removal of plaque through a method called scaling and root planing. Scaling removes tartar from above and below the gum line, while root planing gets rid of rough spots on the tooth root where germs gather. The symptoms of periodontal disease aren’t noticeable until the disease is advance. Some symptoms include bad breath, swollen gums, tender or bleeding gums, and sensitive teeth.
Root Canal Treatment. Endodontic treatment is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the root canal, becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can have a variety of causes such as deep decay, or a crack in the tooth. In addition, an injury to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess.
Extraction. Removing a tooth is sometimes necessary to protect the health of your mouth. Generally we recommend treatment to save the tooth, but when a tooth is excessively damaged, extraction is the best choice.
Space Maintainer. If a child looses a baby tooth due to decay or injury, other teeth may shift, not allowing the permanent tooth enough space to come in when it begins to emerge. The result would be crooked and crowded teeth making it difficult to chew or speak. A space maintainer is used to hold that spot where the tooth was lost. Later when the permanent tooth emerges, the maintainer is removed.
Implants. A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that an oral surgeon places into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. While high-tech in nature, dental implants are actually more tooth-saving than traditional bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support. Implants feel so natural and look natural, that you may forget you ever lost a tooth.
All-On-4. All-on-4 is one of the best and most cost effective dental solutions for patients who are edentulous and already have dentures, or are soon to be edentulous. All-on-4 is an implant service that place 4 implants to hold a permanent set of teeth. With All-on-4 implants bone loss would no longer be a concern. These teeth are permanent and do not need to be removed and can be brushed as normal teeth. They also do not press on your gums, so you are able to be comfortable. Traditional dentures may even remove your sense of taste, but with All-on-4 implants you will be able to taste and experience hot and cold again.
Crowns and Bridges. A crown is a dental cap that is placed over the tooth to restore its previous shape and size, and to protect the structure of the tooth. A crown can be needed to protect a tooth from decay, fractures, or to restore an already broken tooth. It can also be used to cover a large filling when there is not much a large remaining tooth structure. They are also used to cover dental implants.
Other treatments we offer include pulpectomy, pulpotomy, abfraction treatments, snore guards and breath treatment.
