Things to know before your teeth cleaning
Before getting your teeth cleaned, you will receive a full oral exam to make sure you are in a good oral health. Be sure to clean your teeth before your cleaning to make it easier on your dentist to immediately identify oral conditions.
During your cleaning, Dr. Morel will use professional grade equipment and toothpaste to clean your teeth. Her assistant will help with rinsing and clearing out the water from your teeth, while getting rid of any plaque that builds up.
Be sure to make your doctor aware of any tooth sensitivity or issues you may be having so that you can have the best experience possible. After your exam try to eat soft foods, and foods that do not stain your teeth such as coffee, acidic, or sugary foods. If you receive a fluoride cleaning you may have to wait an hour before eating again.
If during your oral exam, Dr. Morel determines you need a more in depth cleaning or a fluoride cleaning, she will let you know the specifics of the procedure and what the differences are.
