Tooth Colored Fillings

Things to know before getting tooth colored fillings

Tooth colored fillings are a good alternative to gold or silver amalgam fillings that look less natural. These are generally used to replace parts of teeth that have gone missing. Let your dentist know any concerns about fillings for your teeth.

After your oral exam, Dr. Morel may determine that you may need tooth fillings. Many times tooth fillings are required to fill cavities or any damages your teeth have sustained. Dr. Morel will then go over the procedure and use tooth fillings where needed.

Teeth fillings are not always necessary, but recommended to keep the integrity and health of the tooth. Be sure to be careful with what you eat after a tooth filling as toothaches can occur after new fillings.

If a filling is needed, Dr. Morel will explain why you will need a filling, and the appropriate plan to address the area of concern. Sometimes a follow-up visit will be necessary.
